If you’re planning a wedding in Atlanta, you’re in luck! Not only do we have tons of venues to choose from, but we have them in every style – from modern and sleek to classically southern. And when the weather’s right, you can exchange vows in one of the many gorgeous outdoor wedding venues here in Atlanta.
Check out a few of my personal favorites!
Since its start in 1928, The Piedmont Room has been a go-to venue for all sorts of events in the Atlanta wedding. It manages to maintain its old-school charm while still looking modern. With the indoor space, you get all the classic, romantic details – granite walls, creeping ivy, massive windows, and the original wood floors – with an unmatched view of the city skyline.
If you prefer an entirely outdoor event, you can reserve the Piedmont Garden Tent for your reception. This is an outdoor, climate-controlled space with an adjacent private garden. Both spaces are perfect for couples wanting an upscale, timeless look with the atmosphere of an outdoor space.
If you’re looking for lush, romantic gardens and outdoor spaces, you can’t go wrong with Dunaway Gardens. With over 25 acres of botanical gardens and several ceremony locations, you’ll have plenty of options for both your wedding events and photos throughout the day.
Like many other Atlanta outdoor wedding venues, Dunaway Gardens offers tons of historic details. You and your partner can get ready in a cottage built in the 1850s, explore the acres and acres of classic gardens, and exchange vows on the same lawns that used to host ballet performances. And in case of rain, there’s also an indoor venue option.
Summerour Studio is one of my personal favorite outdoor wedding venues in the Atlanta area. The space is a renovated warehouse, but they’ve blended the industrial feel perfectly with its more traditional, romantic elements. And since it’s so close to downtown, you get a beautiful view of the skyline and the convenience of the city.
No matter the season, Summerour Studio offers plenty of ceremony and reception spaces both indoors and out. I especially love the walled courtyard with its vine-covered walls and stone archways. Inside, you get amazing light, huge windows, and a grand staircase (which is perfect for photos).
The Trolley Barn has served several purposes throughout its lifetime – as a streetcar hub, a church, a farmers’ market, and more – but now it’s one of Atlanta’s most fun outdoor wedding venues. You can rent the patio for your rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, or all three, and you’ll also have access to the stunning indoor space. And since it’s just a couple miles from downtown Atlanta, you get a little slice of history right near the heart of the city.
As if the patio wasn’t nice enough, the grounds at The Trolley Barn are also gorgeous and perfect for an outdoor ceremony. Exchange vows under an arbor in the garden, take photos together in front of an old wrought iron fence, and then dance the night away on the patio under the stars.
If you’re looking for a historic venue dripping in old-school charm, you have to tour The Estate. Between the mansion built in 1797 and the lush, manicured grounds, you’ll have plenty of options for ceremony and reception backdrops. Weather permitting, you can even get married beneath a canopy of blush roses. Does it get any more romantic?
While the mansion’s facade looks like something from a period film, the interior is entirely updated and features modern touches throughout. There’s a ballroom, two salons for greeting your guests, and a wine cellar in the basement. Everywhere you look, you’ll see historic, romantic details, making this spot a perfect outdoor wedding venue.
When I think of the Swan House, I think of an elegant European garden party. Lucky for us, it’s actually tucked away just miles from downtown Atlanta. It makes for a stunning outdoor wedding venue, but you can also rent single rooms for smaller weddings and events like your rehearsal dinner or bridal shower. Since there’s a restaurant on site, you won’t even have to worry about catering!
For wedding receptions, I highly recommend the Bellenita Room and adjacent patio. It’s great for smaller, more intimate weddings with an upscale feel.
Want to feel like you’re getting married on the set of Bridgerton? Check out The Wimbish House. Located in Midtown, this venue features a stone facade, formal ballroom, and large courtyard for an old-world castle feel. I’ve seen it host traditional and more unique weddings, and it serves as the perfect backdrop for both styles.
If you’re inviting lots of out-of-town guests, this venue is a great option. It’s within walking distance of five hotels and close to tons of fun restaurants and local spots. Your guests can get a taste of modern-day Atlanta during the day and come celebrate with you in the historic mansion in the evening.
I’d love to help you find your perfect spot! With over seven years of experience, I’ve shot weddings across the Atlanta area and beyond. I’m more than happy to help you track down a venue that checks all your boxes.
