A Bright Summer Wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho
When I met M and R, I knew their wedding was going to be elegant, classic, and a ton of fun. They opted for a destination wedding not too far from their Seattle home. They found Trail Creek Cabin in Idaho and fell in love with the stunning outdoor space. Perfect for a bright summer wedding!
I’ve shot at Trail Creek Cabin multiple times, and I genuinely never get tired of it. It’s gorgeous on its own, but it also transforms with the change of seasons and with each couple’s tastes. It served as the perfect backdrop for M and R’s classic but bold wedding vision.
And the best part? Sun Valley, Idaho, doesn’t get super hot in the summertime. M and R were able to take advantage of the bright summer light without fighting heat and bugs all day long. You don’t get that everywhere.
Choosing a Venue Everyone Will Love
Having kids at weddings seems to be a hot topic these days, but for some couples, it’s a non-negotiable. M and R not only wanted kids to attend their wedding, they wanted kids to love their wedding. They chose a venue that helped them do just that!
Because there’s so much gorgeous, open outdoor space at Trail Creek Cabin, all the kids were able to run, explore, and be as rambunctious as they wanted to. M and R even rented an all-white bouncy house (but let’s be honest, plenty of adults partook in the fun, too). In addition, they set up a kids-only yurt where all the little ones could play when they wanted to get away from the dance floor, where they were more than welcome.
While your wedding is for you, I love it when couples take their guests’ needs and wants into consideration. With a little extra prep work, M and R pulled off a kid-friendly wedding that I’m sure their youngest guests will remember forever.
Using Lemons as Wedding Decor for Pops of Color
M and R wanted an elegant summer wedding, but they also wanted a pop of color in the decor. They decided on a muted color scheme of white and soft greens to complement the scenery, and they used lemons to add a pop of color to their florals and centerpieces.
I’ve seen lemons as wedding decor before, but never done so elegantly as M and R’s planner Invisible Hostess was able to do them. I especially loved the lemons and leaves used as place cards and the floral swags hung all the way down the aisle. With the lush summer foliage in Idaho, they really didn’t need much in the way of decor. The florals and lemons added just enough to the space.
You deserve a wedding gallery as unforgettable as your love story.
