Wedding at Kiawah Island
Did you know a lush and private island is just outside of Charleston, South Carolina? Known to be magical, you have to see to believe how beautiful Kiawah Island is. As a Charleston photographer, I am blessed to have covered some of the most gracious and easy-going couples at this gorgeous place. And to be honest, I am so thankful to Scott and Shay for they allowed me to cover their beautiful love story. Their Kiawah Island wedding was one of the most intimate moments I was ever part of and will never be able to forget.
The venue they chose, The Sanctuary Island Resort; is one of the best Charleston wedding venues. It is simply gorgeous, featuring Spanish moss trees, bungalow suites, and beach bonfires that make for one memorable occasion. On their wedding day, the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Resort was nothing short of dreamy. What I loved and enjoyed the most about the day was that Scott and Shay included their children to be part of the celebration. It was all about their family moments, togetherness, and love.
Scott is gorgeous inside & out, and, of course, she looked utterly radiant! While Shay, her handsome groom, looked so charming and delightful. For me, it was a privilege to be part of their bespoke Kiawah Island wedding. What a photogenic, incredible and gorgeous couple!

The venue’s surroundings are home to award-winning beaches and world-class amenities. It offers an array of enchanting settings for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
As a photographer, I feel this place offers some of the most gorgeous and picturesque backdrops for some timeless pictures. We spent some time capturing a gorgeous sunset on the island that made for some romantic intimate portraits.
From the quiet ceremony at the beginning of the day when they exchanged vows to the very last moment when they shared a private dance, every segment of their day was thoroughly fun and joyous.
Kiawah Island weddings are truly unforgettable, picturesque and beautiful. This gorgeous destination proved to be a haven for Scott and Shay’s story and the perfect spot for their new beginnings. To be honest, I had so much fun and I would love to come back to this place again and again if given an opportunity!
