Are you looking for a dramatic and gorgeous site for your wedding? With wildflower-filled meadows, and a backdrop of the breathtaking Boulder mountains, don’t look further than Galena Lodge. In my opinion, it’s a perfect location if you wish for a laid-back event in the mountains. Plus, it provides a dramatic and unique site for ceremonies! That being said, I had the joy to be part of one such memorable Galena Lodge wedding for a lovely couple, Ben and Kristine.
Ben and Kristine are an adventurous couple, and their energy is so contagious. After meeting them, we bonded over our common interest in cycling and the immense love we shared for Idaho’s natural and scenic beauty. These two outdoor enthusiasts explored several wedding venues in the sun valley and fell fondly for the breathtaking views and enveloping outdoor presence of the Galena Lodge. They knew it was the place for their summertime nuptial festivities.
Surrounded by Smokey Mountains and Boulders – this idyllic destination did not disappoint. This community-owned lodge offered a calm escape with lovely scenery, campgrounds, and great hiking trails. The wildflower-filled meadows sit right at the heart of Idaho’s Boulder Mountains and at the base of Galena Peak. This venue is perfect for anyone looking for a Galena Lodge wedding in the great outdoors. One cannot get a better view than this one right here.
During the ceremony, these two lovely souls exchanged vows on the lush grounds of meadows. It was just a 10-minute walk from the reception area and the main lodge. The meadow is truly one of a kind – it makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. The experience of capturing a wedding in a stunning open field with wildflowers and a fantastic mountain backdrop was incredibly fun. We had several portraits and group photos with picturesque jaw-dropping backdrops.
Following the lovely intimate session, the couple headed to their reception. They wanted a backyard garden feel, so patterned table decor was tastefully done amidst the lush green space. The vibe was simply phenomenal, laid back, and natural. All the guests were joyous and in an epic mood!
Friends and family members from all over the country traveled for the wedding weekend to Ketchum. I was also honored to have photographed their rehearsal dinner at Sawtooth Brewery. It was an intimate gathering filled with delicious local craft beer and a couple of love-filled speeches.
This event was indeed a lovely Galena Lodge wedding from start to finish. The scenic views, delicious food, drinks, and a full night of dancing under the stars at this event space are what made this couple’s big day so spectacular. Also, they are some of the reasons I love this place so much, its beauty enables me to capture memorable new beginnings for newlyweds.
